Bio-Chemistry Department

Biochemistry undergraduate course was stated in the year 1993 with a sanctioned strength of 16 students in each Tamil and English medium of instruction.

This is the first college in Bharathidasan University who offered undergraduate Biochemistry course. This degree course is very beneficial to the students because it is one of the job-oriented courses. Students from rural area also have opportunity to get higher education in job oriented subject.

At present the department functions with 4 members of staff with M.Phil., Qualification and 2 guest lecturers.

The department is proud to state that this is the only institution in Tamil Nadu, which is offering Biochemistry in Tamil as medium of instruction.
Biochemistry department is producing nearly 32 graduates every year. Most of our graduates are employed in educational institutional, clinical and research laboratories, drug companies, etc.

Biochemistry department gives a wonderful opportunity for the Women students from the economically weak and downtrodden society.
